To advance the District Department of Transportation’s (DDOT) Vision Zero initiative, Precision Systems, Inc. (PSI) developed a data-driven Traffic Safety Input (TSI) Prioritization Model designed to efficiently evaluate and respond to public-reported safety concerns across Washington, DC.

The model analyzed over 7,700 intersections citywide, integrating key datasets such as:

- Crash history

- Pedestrian exposure

- Roadway geometry and conditions

- Equity indicators including income level, race, and disability status

PSI collaborated closely with DDOT to align the tool with the city's transportation safety goals, with special emphasis on vulnerable road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and communities near schools and transit corridors. Built for internal agency use, the model enables DDOT to:

- Streamline safety request evaluations

- Prioritize high-risk locations

- Reduce processing delays

- Optimize resource allocation

The TSI Prioritization Model exemplifies PSI’s commitment to smart mobility, transportation equity, and data-informed decision-making in support of safer urban environments.
