Bus transit is a vital lifeline for many residents of Washington, DC, especially for underserved and historically disadvantaged communities who depend on reliable transportation to access jobs, healthcare, and social services. To address these needs, Precision Systems, Inc. (PSI) led the 11th Street NW Bus Priority Improvement Project in partnership with the District Department of Transportation (DDOT).

Spanning from Pennsylvania Avenue to Massachusetts Avenue NW, this corridor improvement project significantly enhanced public transit efficiency, traffic flow, and street safety. PSI’s context-sensitive design introduced dedicated bus lanes, reducing delays and improving service reliability for transit riders. The project also delivered multimodal upgrades, including enhanced bike infrastructure and pedestrian-friendly improvements, fostering safer, more accessible streets for all users.

By prioritizing equitable mobility solutions and sustainable urban design, PSI helped transform 11th Street NW into a more connected and efficient transportation corridor in the heart of the city.
