Precision Systems, Inc. (PSI) modernized the Arizona Crash Information System (ACIS) by optimizing its SQL Server backend and enhancing spatial search performance. By implementing an advanced spatial index, PSI significantly reduced search times and improved the system’s responsiveness.

Within ACIS’s ASP.NET web interface, PSI integrated spatial query capabilities for faster, more accurate crash data retrieval and analysis. A newly developed network screening tool allows users to rank intersections, road segments, and corridors by crash frequency, injuries, fatalities, and severity—filterable by date range, jurisdiction, and crash type, including pedestrian, DUI, and speeding incidents.

These enhancements empower users across Arizona to conduct real-time, geospatial crash analysis, improving statewide traffic safety planning and resource allocation.
